Haemogram Test | Components, Normal Range & purpose
Introduction :-
Haemogram is also known as CBC ( Complete blood Count ). Haemogram is a normal routine test which provide a valuable information about blood composition. This test help to provide detail about infection or inflammation in the body. It help to diagnose a infection.
Haemogram test is done in purple colour tube. Purple colour tube is known as EDTA Tube ( Ethlene Diamine Tetraacetic acid ). EDTA Tube is a blood collecting Tube specially used in pathology laboratory. In purple colour tube, EDTA is a clot agents.
Normal Range :-
1. Hemoglobin :- It also Known as HB.
Normal Range of Hemoglobin in Adult Men :- 13 to 18 gm/dl
Normal Range of Hemoglobin in Adult Women :- 12 to 16 gm/dl
2. RBC Count :- Full form RBC is Red blood cell.
Normal range of Red blood cell in Adult Men :- 4.5 to 6.5
Normal Dange of Red Blood Cell in Adult Women :- 3.8 to 5.8
3. PCV cbc :- Packed Cell Volume is also known as Haemtocirt.
Normal range of Packed Cell Volume in Adult Men :- 38.9 to 50.9 %
Normal Range of Haemotocirt in Adult Women :- 34.8 to 45.0 %
4. MCV :- Full form of MCV is Mean Corpuscular Volume.
Normal range of mean corpuscular volume in men and women are same.
Range :- 80 to 100
5. MCH :- Full form of MCH is Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin.
Range :- 27 to 32
MCH Range are same in men and women.
6. MCHC ( Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration ) :-
Normal range of MCHC :- 32 to 36
Same in men & women .
7. RDW cbc :- full form of RDW is Red Blood Cell Distribution Width.
Normal range :- 11 to 16
Normal range same in Men & Women
8. TLC :- Full form TLC is Total Leucocytes Count. It also known as WBC ( White Blood Cell ).
Normal range of WBC is 4000 to 11000
9. Absoulute Neutrophil Count Normal range :- 2000 to 7000
10. Absolute Lymphocytes Count Normal Range :- 1000 to 3000
11. Absolute monocyte count normal range is 200 to 1000
12. Absolute Eosinophil Count normal range is 20 to 500
13. Absolute Basophil count normal range is 20 to 100
14. Neutrophil Normal range is 40 to 70
15. Lymphocytes normal range is 25 to 50
16. Eosinophil normal range is 0 to 5
17. Monocyte normal range is 2 to 10
18. Basophil normal range is 0 to 2
19. Platelet Count normal range is 150000 to 450000
20. MPV :- Full form of MPV is Mean Platelets volume
21. PCT :- Full form of PCT is Packed Cell Thickness. It also known as Hematocrit or HCT.
22. PDW :- Full form of PDW is platelet Distribution Width
